The National University and an International Patent Organisation in South-Eastern Europe

Challenge

Oxford Oracle responded to an invitation from an international patent organisation to deliver a Technology Transfer Consultation and Support Programme for the national university in South-Eastern Europe. This followed Oxford Oracle's previous work with the national university and the national intellectual property office concerning the establishment of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at the university. The national university aimed to accelerate the development of world-class technology transfer capabilities to achieve a strong position in global markets and enhance institutional prosperity.

The Oracle's Solution

Oxford Oracle's work included: 1. Invention disclosure workshops to identify high-priority projects for the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), build relationships between researchers and commercialisation staff, and outline optimal IP and route-to-market strategies 2. Formulation of performance metrics and institutional KPIs 3. Implementation of internal systems and operational workflows for the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) 4. Ongoing on-site and remote mentoring and commercialisation advisory for technology transfer staff

Consequential Impact

Oxford Oracle ensured that the international patent organisation's investment resulted in a fully functioning, professional technology transfer office with a prioritized pipeline of promising innovations. Within the broader co-operation programme, senior Oxford Oracle leadership evaluated the technology transfer landscape across participating universities in Central and Eastern Europe, delivering gap analyses and actionable policy recommendations.
