Rider University in North America

Challenge
The university needed to build an undergraduate and postgraduate technology commercialisation curriculum, providing students with real-world experience in IP evaluation and startup creation. The institution faced increasing pressure to bridge academic discovery with commercial adoption, requiring structured governance, clear IP policies, and multi-disciplinary collaboration frameworks to overcome traditional research silos.
The Oracle's Solution
Oxford Oracle co-designed the technology entrepreneurship curriculum, integrating hands-on case studies, IP due diligence projects, and direct mentorship from experienced Technology Transfer Office (TTO) consultants. Oxford Oracle deployed a multidisciplinary advisory team to execute comprehensive technical due diligence, design bespoke commercialisation roadmaps, and establish standardized stage-gate evaluation metrics. This comprehensive initiative significantly accelerated time-to-market for novel inventions while safeguarding core institutional IP rights and fostering regional economic growth.
Consequential Impact
The curriculum trained over 200 students annually, leading to the launch of 8 student-led technology startups that secured $1.4 million in early-stage angel investment. Furthermore, the engagement established a permanent, scalable operational blueprint, driving long-term strategic alignment, continuous revenue growth, and enhanced institutional reputation across global innovation networks.
