A Leading Southern European University — European Social Fund Project

Challenge
Oxford Oracle worked successfully with the national university in a joint two-year EU-funded project to transform the university's knowledge transfer capacity.
The Oracle's Solution
Oxford Oracle supported the university in raising awareness of technology transfer across Europe and with the development of a business incubation centre, as well as delivering an Intensive Training Programme in Entrepreneurship. Oxford Oracle successfully delivered a two-year programme with the national university funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). The aims of the programme included: setting up a Knowledge Transfer Office (Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) at the university, provision of practical training, Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) staff around Technology Transfer and Business Incubation, raising awareness of Knowledge Transfer activities within the Southern European innovation ecosystem by holding seminars for the university staff and the regional innovation ecosystem including university, businesses, government, investors and professional organisations and, the development and delivery of a Masters level Intensive Training programme in Entrepreneurship for high technology based potential entrepreneurs. The project resulted in the university gaining a highly competent knowledge transfer office, staffed by Oxford Oracle trained specialists who provided support to academic staff and students on knowledge transfer and intellectual property. This allowed the university to maximise the commercial benefits of its academic research. Oxford Oracle also supported the university in raising awareness of technology transfer across Europe, and with the development of a thriving business incubation centre, named Launchpad. With specialists Analyticum, Oxford Oracle also delivered an eight-module Intensive Training Programme in Entrepreneurship. We subsequently delivered multiple follow-on contracts with the national university. One to continue advising the university, which now has the internal expertise, materials, and know-how to deliver the desired increase in science and technology start-ups in the region, and subsequently 13 individual projects to mentor the commercialisation of research from the university.
Consequential Impact
As a result, the university gained a highly competent knowledge transfer office, staffed by Oxford Oracle trained specialists who provide support to academic staff and students on knowledge transfer and intellectual property, so that it can maximise the commercial benefit of its academic research.
