An Industry-government High Technology Group, a Technology Commercialisation Platform, and an International Cultural and Educational Organisation in Asia

Challenge
To design and deliver a course of accredited training that provides the full requirement of 60 Alliance for Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP) CE training points in order to allow 40 technology transfer managers to apply for professional recognition as Registered Technology Transfer Professionals.
The Oracle's Solution
Contracting with the government agencies of an industry-government high technology group (Asian Industry-Government Group for High Technologies), a technology commercialisation platform, and an international cultural and educational organisation, Oxford Oracle delivered four accredited courses over 12 days during a year-long period in Asia. The courses were Technology Transfer: Theory to Practice, Valuation and Deal-Making, Commercialising Software and Digital Know-How, and Building University-Industry Relationships. Oxford Oracle is among just eight leading international organisations which has achieved the distinction of offering set courses accredited by the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals, the global professional body for the Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation sector. Indeed, Oxford Oracle is the only commercial organisation to have received a licence to award Alliance for Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP) Continuing Education points. (This licence has been in force since 28 Apr 2018.) The other seven licenced organisations are national/regional professional societies with a focus on developing the skills of their members. Our accredited courses provide CE training points which can be used in the application for professional recognition as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (with the corresponding right to use the postnominal designation of Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP). We currently offer four accredited programmes (which together provide the 60 Alliance for Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP) CE which are required to apply for Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) status) and our course pipeline continues as we are committed to annually producing two further accredited courses. Contracting with the government agencies of an industry-government high technology group (Asian Industry-Government Group for High Technologies), a technology commercialisation platform, and an international cultural and educational organisation, Oxford Oracle delivered all four of the courses detailed above. The anonymous feedback received from participants was unanimously positive on all of these courses and, more importantly, all 40 participants reported that the learning outcomes will be instrumental in allowing them to be better technology transfer professionals. Oxford Oracle also advised the Asian government and professional organisations on establishing a national organisation to become an affiliated member of the International Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals. Asian Industry-Government for High Technology (an industry-government high technology group). Leaders in Innovation Accelerator (LIA) Programme - an international bilateral science and innovation fund This accelerator programme was financed through an international bilateral science and innovation fund in Asia. Our partners were an industry-government high technology group, one of the major government agencies focusing on supporting innovation from the public to the private sector. Applications to join the programme went out to the national innovation community, focused on university-developed innovations. We selected 30 projects to come onto our intensive three-day boot camp in Asia from which we selected our final fifteen. Each project was then matched with a UK Mentor who will then work with the innovators and entrepreneurs to progress their agreed Acceleration objectives towards investment ready status for their projects. Final Pitch Day was in January 2021 where we gathered local and international investors to join remotely to consider making seed investments in promising outputs from this international accelerator programme.
Consequential Impact
The anonymous feedback received from participants was unanimously positive for all of these courses and, more importantly, all 40 participants reported that the learning outcomes will be instrumental in allowing them to be better technology transfer professionals. Oxford Oracle also advised the Asian government and professional organisations on establishing a national organisation (an agricultural technology agency) to become an affiliated member of the international Association of Technology Transfer Professionals.
