An Autonomous Vehicle Software Developer, UK

Challenge

an autonomous vehicle software developer, UK Market Research to assess the potential impact of land based robotic autonomy on different market segments in order to scope out the market opportunity (June-Aug 2018) Context: an autonomous vehicle software developer was founded in 2016 by Oxford professors, Paul Newman and Ingmar Posner.

The Oracle's Solution

Since then, they have grown from a start-up through to one of the world's leading autonomous driving software companies. They build software for real-world application, drawing on principles of physics, robotics, maths, AI and a dedicated team to perfect our technology. Their autonomous vehicle software is deployed across multiple sectors, bringing the benefits of autonomy to businesses globally.

Consequential Impact

They are working to build an eco-system that supports the adoption of autonomous vehicles, building partnerships to accelerate the deployment of Universal Autonomy. Original case study The objectives of this project were to assess the potential impact of land-based autonomy on different market segments in order to 1) Scope the potential market opportunity 2) Determine the impact on different industries and in particular - the timescale for impact and disruptive potential (incremental or transformative). Oxford Oracle conducted the project in two main phases: an in-depth discussions with stakeholders and development of work plan and an identification of relevant secondary sources and extraction of insights.
